Principal's Message

Dear LIBRA Community,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!  Although this year will start off through Distance Learning, we are excited to zoom with our students, reconnect and meet our new 9th graders!

LIBRA is a very special place where the entire community is committed to the success of each and every one of our students’ education and well-being.

The faculty at LIBRA is committed to educating the whole child, where both students’ academic and social emotional needs are addressed with dedication, compassion, and a willingness to learn.  Students have the ability to connect with and form relationships with LIBRA adults so that they know that there is someone who will advocate for them and support them when they experience challenges and success.

Our core values at LIBRA reflect who we are as a community.   We are Student-Centered, have a Growth Mindset, and are committed to Building Meaningful Relationships with our students and stakeholders.

Because we are starting this year through a virtual platform, our focus this year will be building relationships.  We know our success lies in the relationships we build with our students and families and therefore, we will be putting our energy into meaningful relationship building whether we are online or in person.  We know that if we work as a team, and with the community, students will receive the tools, instruction, and support necessary to be successful so that they can leave LIBRA as thoughtful global citizens.  After all, we will continue to educate them on having a strong character, mind, and well-being.

We believe that preparing students for college and career success is a shared effort and welcome parents’ involvement in their student’s education. We invite parents to reach out to their teachers whenever you have a question or concern.  We are a team and can work together to address all situations.

This year we have so many things to look forward to! We have a new counseling team, Assistant Principal, and our very own Psychiatric Social Worker, all of whom share our core values. We also have some new teachers that will be joining us including our first-ever music class!  The 2020-21 school year is one for the books.  Let’s make history by being just as successful virtually.  As long as we work as a team, we’ll be able to thrive!
